May 10, 2006.  In collaboration with 6th @ Penn Theatre, Voices of Women sponsored a performance of the play "I Have Before Me a Remarkable Document Given to me by a Young Lady from Rwanda", by Sonja Linden.

Directed by Claudio Raygoza, the production featured Monique Gaffney and Dale Morris in the compelling and moving play about a female survivor of the Rwanda genocide and her struggle to come to grips through her writing with the horrors of losing her family.  The almost-full house of patrons participated in a forum with the actors and Mr. Lowell Blankfort, a San Diego resident, publisher and writer, who wrote a series of articles on post-carnage Rwanda.  $600 was raised for SURF, the Survivors' Fund based in London, England, and founded for the purpose of promoting the needs of survivors of the genocide.

On July 8, 2006, there will be a performance of the play at the Christ Lutheran Church. The event will begin at 4:00pm. Details will follow as they come to hand. All proceeds raised from this performance will be donated to an orphanage being built in Rwanda.
