Past VOW Events

September 11, 2001 was the catalyst for the founding of Voices of Women. In 2004 it became the vehicle for discussing the possibility of peace in the Middle East.

In collaboration with Mo'olelo Performing Arts Company and playwright Seema Sueko, a VOW board member, a sold out audience of 100 was enthralled by the production of Remains. The story follows a young female student who tours the Middle East describes her discoveries and adventures in her diary. This diary eventually reaches her mother in the remains of Laila's possessions after she is killed. Seema Sueko, Linda Libby and Kathryn Venverloh starred in this 90-minute, gripping piece.

Following the performance, Jaime Zimron, Rania Elbanna, Miko Peled and Nader Elbanna, representatives of the Israeli and Palestine community in San Diego discussed the situation in between their countries. They advised us that if peace is to happen, it will start right here in the United States.
