October 5, 2010. At the home of Ruth & Stanley Westreich, VOW presented a Salon: Women & Philanthropy: Leading the Way, Making a Difference.

Featured speakers were Dr. Jeanne Herberger, The Herberger Foundation, Scottsdale, AZ and Ruth Westreich of The Westreich Foundation, San Diego. The speakers addressed the history of philanthropy, how women became involved, the composition of boards  and the requirements for successful philanthropy.  The 30+ guests were enlightened by the information, and enjoyed sumptuous hors d'oeuvres and conversation.
